Biographical history

Victor Thompson was born in Holland Landing, Ontario on April 26, 1878. Mr. Thompson came to Wetaskiwin in 1899 and lived in the Wetaskiwin area for the remainder of his life. He was active in community work and was councillor and reeve of the Municipality of Montgomery for over 30 years. Mr. Thompson was also an active supporter of minor hockey in Wetaskiwin. Mr. Thompson died in 1951 and was survived by his wife Lillian, two sons, Aubrey and Elwood, and a daughter, Mrs. Max Sears.

Custodial history

Donated by Elwood Thompson in 1989 and Mrs. Carol Grant in 2001. It is believed that Mrs. Grant was a relative of Victor Thompson.

Scope and content

Fonds consists of material created or collected by Victor Thompson of Wetaskiwin. Fonds consists of photographs of groups at meetings or conventions held by organizations such as the United Farmers of Alberta and the Convention of Alberta Rural municipalities and Local Improvement Districts.
