Administrative history
The Turner Valley Oilfield Society was established in 1982 to develop an interpretive centre about the petroleum industry and Hell's Half Acre in Turner Valley, Alberta. In 1991 the Society, in collaboration with Alberta Culture, hired David Finch to undertake an oral history project with early residents of the Turner Valley area. During the course of the project, 71 individuals were interviewed in 51 interviews.
