Albert Strong was born in Denmark in May, 1857. At age 13 he immigrated to the United States where he worked on cattle and horse ranches and was a government scout for wagon trains. He moved from Kansas to Canada in 1910 with his wife, Mary. Mary was born in 1872 and married Albert in 1898. They first settled near Hanna and then moved to Colinton. In 1920 they moved to the South Athabasca area and farmed SW25-65-23-W4. They had no family. Mary was a member of the Red Cross and the Anglican Church Women's Auxiliary. She died in 1946 and Albert lived in the St. Vincent de Paul home in Athabasca until his death on Oct.30, 1957. They are buried in St.Alban's Cemetery.
