The Rosedale Historical Society was formed in 1981 to research and publish a history of Rosedale. Although it gathered together many family histories and photographs, it never succeeded in publishing the history. Ernest Hlady subsequently received the committee's permission to include the material in his history of the Drumheller area, The Valley of the Dinosaurs : Its Families and Coal Mines. - East Coulee, Alberta : East Coulee Community Association, 1988.
