Administrative history

The Rosedale Douglas Social Credit Group in Calgary, Alberta was established between 1932 and 1934 to promote the Social Credit movement and support political candidates. It largely grew out of the Crescent Heights High School Parent Teacher Association. William Aberhart, the school's principal and later Alberta's first Social Credit premier, spoke at PTA meetings about Social Credit as early as 1932. Susan Eloise Boyd, 1880-1951, was born in Kentucky, USA. She married J.R. Willett and they homesteaded near Hanna, Alberta before moving to Calgary in 1919. Susie Willett was active in the PTA and instrumental in the founding of RDSCG, for which she served as secretary. The members were predominantly women.
