Biographical history
Reverend Clement Hoyler was sent by the Moravian Church in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania to the Edmonton area in 1896 to be the founding pastor of the Bruderheim and Bruderfeld congregations. Over the years, Hoyler was instrumental in the organization of several Moravian congregations. He kept detailed records of the spiritual and temporal life of his congregations along with environmental and phrenological records.
