The Red Deer Central Protestant School District No. 104 was established in 1886. In 1893, the District changed its name to the Red Deer Central School District No. 104, and ultimately became Red Deer Public School District No. 104, which is still active

Fonds consists of the administrative records created by the schools of the Red Deer Public School District during their activities, primarily tracking student transfers and attendance.
The types of records include student attendance books for a variety of schools and student transfer records, photographs of students, staff, trustees, Superintendents, events, and schools, programs for graduations, official openings, and plays, yearbooks, select correspondence including Alberta School Trustees Convention, land titles for the Red Deer Public School District, select magazines and books, minute books, cashbooks and ledgers, centennial activities, Red Deer Junior High School Student Outcome Study (1972-1976), select annual reports, and staff distribution lists.
