Biographical history
Red Crow, [ca. 1830-1900], was born in southern Alberta, and became chief of the Fish Eaters band of Blood in 1869. After Treaty 7 he became head chief of the Bloods. He and his family took up farming and ranching on the reserve. He had at least four wives and three children, Nina-Kisoom (Chief Moon), Makoyi-Opistoki, and Astohkomi (Shot Close or Frank Red Crow). In 1977 the Historic Sites and Monuments Board of Canada designated Red Crow as a National Historic Person. For further information see Red Crow, Warrior Chief / Hugh A.
