Biographical history
Owen Horlacher was born on January 22, 1922 on his family homestead in Claresholm, AB. He spent his early life working on the family farm, and later volunteered to serve in WWII, where he worked as an aircraft mechanic. Following WWII, he returned to Claresholm and married his first wife, and had 2 children named Lowell and Diane. Horlacher was a step-father to 6 children with his second wife, and had a son, Darcy, with her. He was later divorced and married to a third woman, Ella Degen. Horlacher passed away on November 24, 2018.

Records include photographs taken by Horlacher, on topics including WWII, botany, farming in and around Millet, and Millet town life. Textual records include newspaper clippings, an award for photography, and Owen’s obituary.
