Olga Marie Robinson was a resident of Whitehorse, Yukon

Custodial history

The donor, Margaret Campbell, inherited the collection from Olga Marie Robinson (nee Campbell) the mother of William Campbell, Margaret's husband.

Scope and content

The fonds consists of photographs of the T.C. Richards and the Burns and Co. personnel in Whitehorse, the Whitehorse Inn and Burns and Co. Butcher shop on Main St., the sternwheeler Victorian travelling upstream through the Five Finger Rapids, Dead Horse Gulch in the winter, a small sternwheeler pushing a barge, and a series of images of the Northern Commercial Co. (NCCo.) fire in Whitehorse. The postcards show images of the Yukon River, Ear Lake, Carcross, Whitehorse waterfront including the shipyards, Miles Canyon, the U.S./Canada boundary with "Flags of Freedom," Dead Horse Gulch in the summer and a Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) dog team. Some of the postcards may have been printed from Barley photos. Textual material includes a copy of a record of "Trip to Dawson, 1898" by John Smith, Olga Robinson's father. Mrs. Campbell and Mr. Robinson are shown in the personnel photo in the Burns and Company photo.
