Allan B. Armstrong fonds

Consists of appellant and respondent factum's collected by former Red Deer lawyer Allan B. Armstrong. The files represent thirteen (13) cases heard before the Supreme Court of Alberta, Appellate Division. Also included is the factum of a fictitious respondent from a Moot Court hearing held at the University of Alberta, Edmonton (1959). Many of the cases are noteworthy and include involvement with several prominent early Alberta lawyers and Justices. The cases relate to a variety of topics ranging from paternity, an early Alberta land deal involving the leader of the Provincial Conservative party, and Red Deer's Arlington Hotel to name a few. Most of the trials occurred in Red Deer, but cases heard in Calgary, Wetaskiwin and Edmonton are also present.

The collection consists of legal clothing, business cards, stationary and note cards donated to Mr. Wachowich from a number of judges and dating from 1960-2001. Judge's clothing collected by Mr. Wachowich formerly belonged to Sidney Bruce Smith, David Cargill McDonald, John McIntosh Hope, Nina Leone Foster, Alexander Andrekson, Frederick Richards McNaughton, H. C. B. Maddison, Vernor Winfield MacBriare "Mac" Smith, Michael O'Byrne, and James L. Lewis.
