Jack Mantle was a brother-in law to Francis Schenk. He was also head of the Army Reserve Corps in Grande Prairie during the Second World War.

The series consists of photographs of river crossings, sports events, groups of friends, early Grande Prairie streets and warehouses, and military photographs.
