Studio portrait of local pioneer Charles John Billsten. Mr. Billsten was born in Smaaland, Sweden on June 19, 1866 and immigrated to Worcester, Massachusetts in 1890, where he met and married Emma Christina Anderson. In 1893 the couple moved to the Malmo district, where Mr. Billsten farmed until 1941. He retired in Wetaskiwin and passed away there on April 1, 1950 at the age of 83.<br><br>
