Free Press advertisement for the Women's Dominion Championships and the Boys' (and Girls') Provincial Championships, Wetaskiwin, Alberta. This track and field competition was held on August 11 and 12, 1931 and it opened with a parade of provinces in which decorated floats representing each province were drawn by Wetaskiwin children to the park. Former track and field star Norma Chiddy presided as queen of the contest. The proceedings were opened by the Honorable W.L. Walsh, Lieutenant-Governor of Alberta, and B.D. Howatt, Mayor of Wetaskiwin.<br><br>
