Tom Innes was the political cartoonist for the Calgary Herald newspaper. Cartoon annotated: 22% raise in taxi fares - news item. Issue: Six Calgary taxi companies asked the Calgary Taxi Commission for fare increases of 44 percent at a public hearing on January 13, 1977. The Commission allowed a 22 percent increase, which made Calgary the most expensive city in Alberta after Red Deer. Original cartoon misdated January 15, 1976.<br><br>
