General note
The Cluny Earthlodge Village site, located 100 km east of Calgary on the Bow River, was excavated under the direction of archaeologist H.A. Huscher of the Smithsonian Institution. This model of an earthlodge is typical of the houses of prehistoric peoples of the Upper Missouri River region, and the prototype of the Cluny lodges which were, however, not as commodious.
