Five separate images published in the Calgary Herald, November 9, 1974. The multi-million dollar Convention Centre was set to open November 15. The Convention Centre also houses the Glenbow Museum. a) The entranceway is where tours begin. b) Operations manager William Lynch. c) The new garden terrace for the centre is watched over by This Little Mermaid and was donated by the Danish-Canadian Club of Calgary. Mayor Rod Sykes attended ceremonies upon its unveiling. d) Intended as a place for receptions and parties, the garden terrace holds many plants;e) There were many special opening week attractions and events scheduled to occur, all free to the public.<br><br>
