The collection consists of application forms and a withdrawal card, a booklet containing the "Constitution of the Grand Camp, Arctic Brotherhood and Constitution and By-Laws of the Subordinate Camps", the "Closing Ode" song sheet, sheet music by Gideon Pepin and correspondence. The photographs capture the Arctic Brotherhood Hall in Skagway, Alaska and the indoor baseball team.

Chilkoot Trail collection

The collection consists of a letter and diary. The letter was written by W.P. Cellbish [?] to his father December 1897 from Lake Lindeman describing his experiences in getting to and hiking the Chilkoot Trail. The diary, written by an unidentified individual, documents a trip from Dawson City, Alaska to Whitehorse, to Skagway by train, and Dyea to Bennett Lake via the Chilkoot Trail.

The collection consists of photographs of animals, plants and Ice Age bones. The photographs were part of unidentified collections and were organized under the title "Flora and Fauna" for research and exhibit purposes. They are of various sizes and formats and most were taken by amateurs although several were prints produced by well known photographers. Subject matter includes animals in natural settings - black bears and grizzlies, moose, caribou, mountain goats, Dall sheep, and a bison. There are numerous photographs of young animals, including bears, moose and rabbits, in captivity. The collection includes images of trophy game, water foul and game birds, sled dogs and huskies and a few images of flowers and gardens, and mammoth bones.

The collection consists of audio tape cassettes of lectures from 1990 to 1995 relating to various aspects of Yukon heritage. Topics addressed by the speakers include archaeology, aviation, animals and wildlife, Alaska Highway, development of Whitehorse and other settlements, heritage conservation, geology, geography, gold rush, photography, prehistory, and Yukon First Nations culture including artistry, clothing, subsistence, and medicine.

The photographs were part of unidentified collections and were organized by "Personalities, Identified" for research and exhibit purposes. The styles and formats of the images in this collection are very wide ranging; they include posed and candid, professional and amateur, studio and natural, large and small. The subjects are known individuals, small groups, organizations, ship crews, sports teams, visiting dignitaries and royalty. Occasionally captions accompany the photograph and identify people, dates, locations and/or events. There are scenes of Martha Black and George Black at a Yukon farm, Percy DeWolfe operating his motor launch, a Klondike family standing outside their cabin at their claim, magazine photographs of the discoverers of gold, British Yukon Navigation Company (BYNCo.) personnel in 1901 posing outside the White Pass commissary, passengers on the sternwheeler Dawson City 1912, IOOF Lodge Number One Dawson members, 1901 Hockey Team, the royal visit of Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip, the royal visit of Princess Alexandra and the opening of the MacBride Museum Centennial Building, the visit of Governor General Vincent Massey to MacBride Museum in 1956, J.W. Boyle's Machine Gun Detachment, the crew of the sternwheeler Yukoner October 10th 1900, crew of the Gleaner, a collage of the Soapy Smith shooting, a White Pass and Yukon Route (WP&YR) construction scene in Caribou Crossing [Carcross], crew of Locomotive Engine 51, the Whitehorse and Skagway Brass Band, crew and passengers of the sternwheeler L.A. France, Rendezvous Queen and contestants in 1962, and a studio photograph of George Carmack, Dawson Charlie, Jim Boss, and Rev. W.A. Blackwell. There are several series of photographs including images of Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) with American service personnel, the crew of the WW II Navy Ship Weyburn, portraits of Commanders of the NWHS from 1946-1960, Skagway newsboys in 1898, Buchanan Boys in Atlin B.C. 1925, and Charles C. Percival in Abbot-Detroit "Bull Dog" on its 100,000 mile durability run. Communities and locations in this collection include: Whitehorse, Dawson City, Carcross [Caribou Crossing], Skagway, Miles Canyon, Pullen House, Assay office at the Pueblo Mine 1912, Atlas Mine, Atlin, North West Mounted Police (NWMP) Barracks and Customs House Boundary out of Haines, and Nice, France. The collection consists of textual records relating to committee trials of misconduct of Brothers Guttshick and Stewart, correspondence with a lodge in Nebraska, copy of a gift certificate, an invoice from Landhal's Emporium and a poster. The photograph is a composite image of 17 members of Dawson Lodge, No. One, in Dawson City, Yukon.

The collection consists of photographs that were part of unidentified collections and were organized under the title "Industry" for research and exhibit purposes. Photograph subjects include mining, boat building, agriculture, trapping and trading, fishing, and construction of the Alaska Highway. Many are images of mining in the Klondike Gold Fields: busy hand mining scenes with open cut mines, sluice boxes and flumes on Bonanza, Gold Hill, Sulpher Creek, Dominion Creek and Quartz Creek, rocking on Gold Hill and King Solomon?s Hill, hydraulicing on French Hill and Lovette Gulch, and underground mining on Eldorado #16. Klondike scenes also include dredges in Bonanza Basin, Canadian No. 1 at Bear Creek 1902, Dredge #3, a small dredge on Hyatt Creek, construction of a dredge, and a view of Canadian Klondike Mining Co. headquarters, in 1906 during the construction of the Klondike Syphon. There are a number of images of the open pit at Pueblo Mines, mining in the Atlin area with water wheels and placer mining in Alaska. Boat building includes a sternwheeler under construction at the Whitehorse shipyard, whipsawing boat lumber and boat building at Bennett. The agriculture photographs include a vegetable garden, a Northern Commercial Company (NCCo.) truck filled with cabbages, Acklen?s garden in Dawson City, the first load of hay harvested at Fairbanks, and images of apples, lettuce, cabbage, potatoes and a 10 foot high tomato plant in Dawson City. Other industry photographs in this collection include a trapper?s outfit in 1911, native men trading at Dawson City, a sled full of caribou in Fairbanks, a mule train alongside the Klondike River, the Northern Lumber Co. in the Klondike Valley, a portable sawmill used by engineers on the Alaska Highway, original bridge near Slims River during building of Alaska Highway, fish wheel on the Yukon River and interiors of Zaccarelli?s Bookstore and the Monte Carlo. Identified photographers are Larss and Duclos, Cantwell, Adams and Larkin, Darms, E.O. Ellingsen and E.A. Hegg.

The collection consists of photographs depicting the first train in operation, the Klondike Mines Railway (KMR) bridge, hauling cordwood, and the rail line in Dawson City, Yukon. Also included are KMR first class return tickets from Dawson City to Klondike City and Grand Forks.

Collection includes hand drawn map of Chilkoot Trail, Northwestern Canada, GSC maps of Northwest Shakwak Valley and Yukon Territory, the latter showing many winter roads and communities which no longer exist, Hudson's Bay Company Peace River District, Teslin, Kluane Corridor Regional Study, an early map of the Yukon and a Rand McNally map of Canada.

The collection consists of audio tape cassettes recorded by various researchers recruited to conduct projects for the MacBride Museum in 1988 and 1993. Includes interviews of Whitehorse area residents by researchers Pam Braun and Lori Jackson relating to the identification of Museum artifacts and photographs of unknown origin, and interviews by Helene Dobrowolsky created in the course of the Whitehorse Copper Belt Research Project to interpret Yukon mining history. The collection is divided into the following: Artifacts Project (1988), Photograph Identification Project (1993), Whitehorse Copper Belt Research Project (1993), Geological Sample Identification Project (1993), and Mining Artifacts Project (1993).
