Fonds consists of military service and personal records of Dr Thomas Erwin (T.E) Brown, a veteran of both World Wars and a doctor in Taber and Lethbridge. Records include Brown’s military notebooks, ration books, field notes and correspondence; an account book from Brown’s medical practice in Taber in the 1930s and pamphlets relating to pediatric medicines; photographs of Brown’s family; and a sketchbook with Brown’s drawings of his home and family.

The fonds consists of Thomas' land purchase records, farm diaries (1921-1929, 1934-1942), and marriage certificate (1911); Annie's nursing notebooks, certificates, correspondence, and an album of nursing cartoons (1900-1917); Jessie Perry's scribblers, art sketches, pressed plant album and memorabilia from St. Hilda's School for Girls (1925-1930); a small diary with entries by both Jessie and Lionel Perry as children (1922-1923); photographs of the Perry and Gibson family, nursing, a camping trip to the mountains, and the Balzac area; and various family certificates, greeting cards, programs, postcards and extensive popular and classical sheet music. Includes weather station records kept at Cochrane by Mrs. A.C. Kerfoot (1961-1976).

The fonds consists primarily of the records of Harry Mackid and L. Stewart Mackid, including appointment and account books (1906-1920); reminiscences and family tree; medical and masonic certificates (1880-1918); and photographs of the Mackid and Meyer families, Calgary and medical conventions.

The fonds consists of William's correspondence, building plans, and financial statements related to the funding and construction of the Calgary General Hospital (1890-1903); his articles on the Riel Rebellion, National Parks, irrigation, CPR, and oil; report to the Economic and Development Commission on development of the West (1916); a genealogy of the Pearce family; architectural plans for the Pearce home (1888); survey plan of proposed irrigation ditch (1896); and various family certificates, invitations, programs, newsclippings and photographs of the family and the west. The collection consists of original material removed from the City of Edmonton Archives Clippings collection as well as records found within the collections that either lack clear provenance or exist as discreet items.

The fonds consists of records relating to the Shields family. The records include Nora Shields’ personal and financial papers, the Shields family tree, early and later photographs from the Shields’ as well as the Dionne family, Jack Shields’ military papers and photographs from his experience as a soldier before and during the Korean War, and some military publications that he collected.

The records have been arranged by the Archivists by content and chronology into the various series and files. The Archivists imposed the order now shown by the records.

The fonds consists of correspondence relating to his activities as a candidate for the North-West Territories Legislature, service as Secretary-Treasurer of the Town of Strathcona, N.W.T., officer of the Strathcona Liberal Association and Premier of Alberta. There is also one framed photographic collage, first mayor and council, Strathcona, 1899.
Also included are documents relating to Alexander Cameron Rutherford and the Town of Strathcona, possibly acquired by Doug Babcock during his research for his biography, 'Alexander Cameron Rutherford : A Gentleman of Strathcona', 1980.
