Hodgson Family fonds

The fonds consists of records relating to the Hodgson family. The records have been divided into nine series; John Fulton personal & financial; Fulton Lea & Sophia Hodgson personal, financial and correspondence; family photographs from Kinistino and Hythe; Edna Hodgson's scrapbook; Hodgson's Mill; H.O.P. Lake/One Island Lake and Hodgson family tree.
The records have been arranged by the Archivists by content and chronology into the various series and files. The records came from so many individual sources, the overall original order of the records had been obscured. The Archivists imposed the order now shown by the records.

Hodgson family

Jabez & Mary Ellen Hodgson

The series consists of a financial paper, a booklet and 2 photographs. The financial paper is a list of shareholders in Clift Mining Property, partners include Diefendorf, Hodgson, McKeen, Schneller, and Weeks. The paper states that the information was provided by Silas Hodgson to Jabez Hodgson and his wife (1892). The booklet is a collection of hymns, temperance songs and poems that were enjoyed or written by Mary Hodgson. The inside cover has Mary's obituary and the back page the obituary of her husband Jabez Barnabas Shaw Hodgson. The booklet was created by Vera (Hodgson) Smith granddaughter of Mary Ellen (Clark) Hodgson. Title based on contents on the series.

Fulton Lea & Sophia Hodgson

The series consists of financial and personal records of Lea Hodgson and of his wife Sophia. The correspondence is letters written to Lea or both Lea and Sophia.

Early Hodgson Family Photographs

The series consists of photographs of the Hodgson family, friends and unidentified people. The photographs for the most part are of Lea as a young man in Kinistino, Saskatchewan. There is also a scrapbook that belonged to Lea which has 88 photographs in it.

Bertha Hodgson and Hedley McKay Wedding

March 30, 1915 Bertha Hodgson and Hedley Wallace McKay were married in Kinistino, Saskatchewan in the Methodist Church.

Notes on the photograph: "This was a cold miserable day. Gilbert was just recovering from pneumonia and was sent back into the house to put his hat and coat on. The photo was taken as he was returning. Jean and Eva Arthur were not allowed out and were told to pose in the window but then they were blocked by the people posing outside."
