Judge Sissons practised law in Grande Prairie, a constituency that he represented as a member of parlement from 1940 to 1945. In 1946 Sissons was raised to the bench and was later transferred to the Territorial Court of the North-West Terriotories in 1955, a position that he held until 1966.
