Fonds consists of the administrative and research materials created, accumulated, and used by the Starting Anew Management Committee during their activities creating the Starting Anew project collecting stories about and by immigrants to Canada.

The fonds includes both oral history interviews and written submissions from community members who immigrated in the second or third wave of immigration to the Central Alberta area. The project involved approximately 75 to 100 participants coming from other parts of Canada and 25 different countries. The fonds also includes promotional material, administrative material, information sheets and general notes. The types of records include minutes, planning related documents, transcripts, photographs, audio interviews, and video recordings.

Included also is Irene Parlby's honorary Doctorate of Laws degree she received from the University of Alberta in 1935, and material regarding Bee Parlby's induction to the Alberta Agricultural Hall of Fame in 1987.
