The fonds consists of textual records and photographs created and collected by the donor. The photographs include street scenes of Jasper Avenue [ca. 1914, 1969], William’s teaching and educational administration career [ca. 1930, 1964], Vera Smith [ca. 1900, 1960] and the students of Queen’s Avenue School, 1909 (it is likely William is in the photo).

Andrew L. Parnham fonds

The fonds consists of a documents, photographs, scrapbooks and news clippings related to Andrew Parnham’s military service and the 51st Battalion, C.E.F.
This fonds also consists of records of the 51st Battalion Association, including minutes, correspondence, membership and financial records and the nominal roll of officers, non-commissioned officers and men of the battalion. It also includes the association gavel and the leather briefcase that held the association records.
The material is arranged into two main sections, Andrew L. Parnham and the 51st Battalion Association.

The fonds consists predominantly of records from Kathleen Waddell’s time in the Women’s Royal Canadian Naval Service. They include one menu card for the Christmas Dinner 1943 of HMCS Stadacona and photographs of Kathleen as a Wren (EA-557-1 to EA-557-11).
There are also photographs of the 1915 flood of the North Saskatchewan River taken by Kathleen’s father, Robert Waddell (EA-557-12 to EA-557-14).

The fonds consists of photographs that reflect the involvement of John Chorley and Thomas Brown in the Canadian military and cover WWI and WWII time periods.
The photographs pertaining to John Chorley are training and parade photos of the 51st Battalion, CEF, based out of Edmonton (1915) (EA-296-1 to EA-296-4).
The photographs pertaining to Thomas G. Brown include group portraits of officers, sergeants and platoons of the 51st Battalion and Edmonton Fusiliers (EA-296-5 to EA-296-8, EB-42).

Peter Anderson fonds

This fonds consists of a menu card, a manuscript account of Peter Anderson’s escape from a prisoner-of-war camp in Germany during World War I; a letter written from the Bischofswerda camp to his son, Bert; humorous regimental orders and a uniform button for the 101st Edmonton Fusiliers (9th Battalion, Canadian Expeditionary Force).
The photographs include Peter Anderson and family, Peter Anderson in military uniform and Sandison’s Brickyard.

William A. Griesbach fonds

The fonds consists of William Griesbach’s political, military, and personal papers, as well as numerous books from his personal library.

Political papers consist of reports, correspondence, contracts, and financial documents concerning the City of Edmonton and the City of Strathcona between 1892 and 1935. There is also a 1912 Edmonton Subdivision map (EAM-178).

Military papers include correspondence, clippings, programs, pamphlets and other materials related to Major-General Griesbach's military career, created between 1919 and ca.1943.

Personal papers include correspondence, financial documents, theatre programmes and other materials relating to Griesbach's personal activities and interests. It includes correspondence on the memorial window in the Cathedral Church of All Saints in Edmonton.

The books reflect the various aspects of Griesbach’s life, career, and interests covering military, political, diplomatic, economic, and historical topics. It should be noted that the books published after Griesbach’s death in 1945 were added by the Western Command HQ Library.

The fonds consists of clippings, booklets and correspondence from Reg’s military career and an autobiography.
The photographs are of various groups, including the Rotary Club, Edmonton Historical Board, Northern Alberta Pioneers and Old Timers Association, Northern Alberta Diary Pool Social Club, McKay Avenue School and of the Selkirk Hotel.
The books include Tony Cashman’s “A Moving Story” (388.3 CAS) and “Memories Of A Pioneer Schoolteacher” by Maisie Emery Cook (923 COO).
