The series contains records related to planning, programs, and volunteers. The records consist of a “Capture the Vision” poster, shedule of events, newspaper clippings, volunteer passes, gate passes, newsletters promoting the upcoming event, memos, information on the Homestay program, brochures, and recognition certificates.

The fonds consists of copies of 41 audio cassettes of oral histories from pioneer families recorded by Joan Margel in 1997-1998. The inidviduals interviewed are Jack Sandul, Pauline (Swerediuk) Nedohin, Bill Bayers, Rooth (English) McBride, Mary (Shewchiw) Bayers, Magda Burechailo, Bill Chalus, Dolly (Lazoruk) Kushernyk, Anne (Sandul) Bahry, Elsie Burechailo, Lillian (Zahara) Lazoruk, Ted Kwasnica, John Lazoruk, Pete Kushneruk, Bill Woronuk, Jack Sandul. While most of the interviews were conducted in the Rycroft area, some are from related family members in Wakaw, Saskatchewan.

The original tapes are in the holdings of the Provincial Archives of Alberta, and a second set are in the University of Alberta Ukranian Archives. These copies are for access only. Reproductions must be requested from the Provincial Archives. Biographies of the interviewees are included in the finding aid.

The Post Newspaper fonds

The fonds consists of 52 issues of The Post, a weekly newspaper, from July 1976 to June 1977, excluding one issue from May 26, 1977. Although based in Fairview, on the north side of the Peace River, the paper includes news from the communities south of the Peace River between Watino and Spirit River. There are also regular columns written by community reporters: Rycroft Notes by Sandy Isaac, Blueberry Mountain by Arletta Hampton, Spirit River News by Rev. Charles King, Eaglesham News by Anne Donaldson, and Wanham News by Tara Foote. Community reports from north of the river include Bear Canyon, Berwyn, Bluesky, Cherry Point, Eureka River, Griffen Creek, Hines Creek, Whitelaw and Worsely.

Lower Beaverlodge School fonds

The fonds consists of records maintained by the Board of Directors for the operation of the Lower Beaverlodge School. It includes correspondence with the Departments of Education, Municipal Affairs and Public Health, the Soldier’s Settlement Board, the Workman’s Compensation Board, school inspectors and parents; financial records including annual financial statements and auditor’s reports, grant statements; insurance, education assessment and tax records, purchases of equipment and curriculum materials; school inspection reports; school census records listing the names and birthdates of children, their parents, and their address; agreements with teachers; supplementary curriculum aids such as radio programming and flags for Empire Day, rough voters lists for 1928 and 1931 elections

Larson's Garage fonds

The fonds consists of 16 counter sales booklets and one book of cheque stubs, detailing the types of work, sales and expenses at Larson’s Garage in 1953 and 1954. Each counter slip contains the date, the name of the customer, the details of work done, and the price charged. Customers were mainly farmers in the neighbourhood, but also included companies such as United Geographic Drilling, the Northern Alberta Railway, and Spirit River School Division.

The Motive Power Department Register is defined as the “appearance book for the signature of engineers and firemen previous to taking out their trains”. It contains the number of the engine; the number, class and destination of the train; the advertised departure of the train; the engineer’s actual time of coming on duty; the fireman’s actual time of coming on duty; the signature of the engineer, and the signature of the fireman.
