Crossing the Smoky River in the Basket

Bill Sargent and Ester Duerksen crossing the Smoky River in a basket suspended from a cable over the river. This method was used when there was still too much ice on the river for the ferry to operate.

Grande Prairie Train Station

The Roberts first horse was Charlie, "a noted and lovable character. He came to Trevor farm in 1916. He featured in nearly all the runaways. He was the most brilliant thinker of his time."
