Slides for CanEverEx welcome home show: set “R”
File contains a set of slides prepared by Programmed Communications Limited and CanEverEx to welcome home the expedition members at the Calgary Airport in October 1982. Photos are divided into 3 sets, “ C, L, R”, signifying Center, Left, and Right. Set “R” contains 52 slides featuring similar content as sets “C” and “L”, with the inclusion of team member head shots of Sungdare Sherpa, Stephen Bezruchka, Dwayne Congdon, and Laurie Skreslet. No photographer identifications are visible on the slides.
Mixed slides from Everest training climbs, supply move-in, team walk-in: set A
File contains slides on various expedition-related subjects, including training climbs on Mt. Muztagata, Denali, Aconcagua, and in the Bugaboos, the April 1982 move-in of equipment into Nepal, the team’s pre-departure press conference in Toronto, the team’s walk in to Base Camp in July, official Everest 1982 logos, Teleglobe satellite advertisements, and photos of sketches of the expedition climb by artist Brian Anderson. Photographers listed include Bob Warren, Andy Bako, and Jean Becq.
File contains 2 copies of a 1-minute video spot for the announcement of the team’s Air Canada sponsorship. A paper identification guide is included with each 1-minute spot. Also includes a video compilation of the pre-expedition Air Canada farewell event in Toronto in July 1982 and brief video spot containing the Everest logo.
File contains a CanEverEx promotional audio segment summarizing the Canadian Everest Expedition’s goals and logistics highlights, aimed at potential corporate sponsors. File also includes an audio reel recorded in the CanEverEx offices on October 4, 1982, celebrating the news of Laurie Skreslet’s successful summit.
