Fonds consists of photographs taken on three climbing trips to the mountains of western Canada by Chamberlin. Views pertain to mountain landscapes, camp scenes and Rudolf Aemmer. Includes the following identified groups: 1. Canadian Rockies, 1910, 108 negatives (#1 - 108), many are identified; 2. Cariboo negatives, 1924, 63 negatives (#1 - 63), plus copy negative of map; 3. Cariboo Mts., 1927, 38 negatives (not numbered); 4. Photograph album, 1910, 1924, contains ca.150 prints from negatives in 1910 and 1924 groups.

Fonds consist of papers and photographs produced and collected by Lawrence Grassi. Textual records consist of correspondence, 1918-1979, from family in Italy and organizations and individuals in Canada; personal papers, 1912-1975; publications and ephemera from organizations, including the Alpine Club of Canada, Canadian Youth Hostels Association, Skyline Trail Hikers of the Canadian Rockies; newsclippings, articles and other material pertaining to Grassi and mountaineering. Photographs pertain mainly to mountain scenery of Alberta and British Columbia, particularly Banff National Park, Lake O'Hara and region, Jasper National Park, Mount Assiniboine and region, Grotto Mountain and Grassi Lakes, ca.1930-ca.1970. Also includes views of Lawrence Grassi, family and friends, ca.1880-ca.1970, and group of unidentified portraits, ca.1880- ca.1900. Transparencies are mainly unidentified colour mountain scenics. Most views are by Grassi; some are by Richard Rushworth and F. V. Longstaff.

Brewster family series, 1841-1981, 2.5 cm of textual records, 132 photographs. Pertains to Brewster family, Jack Brewster, John Brewster, Pearl Brewster Moore and the Moore family.

Fonds consists primarily of John Murray's negatives of the Canadian Rockies, 1937-1938. Included are the areas of Banff, Lake Louise, Lake O'Hara, Yoho Valley, Mount Assiniboine, Mount Athabasca, Fraser Glacier, Outpost Peak, North and South Twin, Mount Andromeda and others. Negatives are accompanied by a descriptive list. Fonds pertains to the 1924 Alpine Club of Canada camp at Mount Robson and consists of views taken or collected by Watchler of the camp, climbing companions and the Mount Robson climb. Includes views by W. S. Park, clippings from the "Regina Daily Post" re Sharpe and Watchler's ascent of Mount Robson, and note written by Conrad Kain certifying the climb.

Professional photography and cinematography primarily arose from field work by Andy, Dick and Charlie Russell and pertains mainly to flora, fauna and landscape of the Canadian Rockies in continental divide region, British Columbia, Yukon and Alaska.
