Pauline and Madelon Flint

Victor and Frances Flint had three daughters: Laura Pauline, Madelon, and Frances Elizabeth. Pauline passed away in 1935 while a student at Olds Agricultural College at the age of 20.

The Flint daughters traveled to Lower Beaverlodge school with pony and cart in the summer, and horse and cutter in the winter. Here, neighbour Helen Stegmeir is in the cutter.

Flint Family Home

The Flints farmed in the Lower Beaverlodge district, calling it Crescent Grove Farm. Their first home was Victor's homestead "shack", made of logs with a sod roof. About 1917 they built a larger log home in a different location. The Beaverlodge Cemetery is on part of Victor's homestead, for which he donated the land.

Beth Flint

Beth Flint attended school at Lower Beaverlodge, completing high school in Beaverlodge. She is seen here with Crescent Grove Farm in the background.

Living in Sexsmith

After completing college, Beth Flint worked as records keeper for the Grande Prairie Cooperative Livestock Marketing Association in Sexsmith.

Beth Flint & Sadie Kirkham

While Beth worked at the Marketing Association in Sexsmith, she lived with Sadie Kirkham in a small home behind the Sexsmith Hotel.

Beaverlodge River in Flood

In 1935, there were floods all over the Peace Country, including the Beaverlodge River in between the town of Beaverlodge and Crescent Grove Farm.
