1996 Rebuilding; Working Binder

The series consists of the contents of an organizational binder kept by the Building Committee of the Milo Curling Club. This includes correspondence, notes, building plans, grant information, site inspection reports, a 1998 financial statement, and a history of the Milo Curling Club prepared for the grand opening event.
Materials have been removed from the binder by the Archives and maintained in their original order.

The series consists of sample logos and membership cards for the Snake Valley Riding Club, as well as 7 hand-made prize ribbons.

Multi-Year Membership

The series consists of meeting sign-in scribblers, Attendance Awards lists and the individual Records of Service of the members of the Milo Lions Club.

The series consists of a clipping of the Alberta Gazette notification of the establishment of Rocky Buttes School district in 1921, a Minute Book (1921-1940), and correspondence with and regarding the establishment of Bow Valley School Division in 1938-39.

The series consists of the pages from a coil-bound notebook and a coil-bound Volunteer Log, as well as sample surveys, curling rosters and draw schedules, shift schedules for a fundraising casino and a balance sheet.

Commemoration

The series consists of certificates, plaques and photographs, including 14 photocopied photos in a 12 x 16 cm album, commemorating various Milo Lions Club events and activities. Also included are a magnet, seating card, membership card, and District Convention ribbon.

The series consists of decals, signs, badges, hats, neckties, note cards and banners from the Milo Lions Club.

R. v. Keegstra, Judgements and Appeal Documents

Series consists of written arguments, factums, books of authorities, and supplemental arguments and authorities filed for the pretrial application regarding the constitutionality of the hate crime provisions of the Criminal Code and for Keegstra’s appeal of his 1985 conviction on the same grounds. Includes the filings of Bruce Fraser, the crown prosecutor for the Keegstra trial. Also includes the judgements issued on the application and the conviction appeal, and research files of case law, book extracts and articles pertaining to the Charter of Rights and Freedoms, freedom of speech, and laws restricting free speech. Series also includes correspondence between McKillop and Doug Christie, Keegstra’s lead lawyer, and newspaper clippings regarding Keegstra’s trial and freedom of speech.
