"Documentary Deluge" took place at Banff Centre between June 15 and 16, 1996. The program description reads: "This unique event explored the revival of documentary television and its marketplace. In confrontational British broadcasts, specialty channel products, creative “artumentaries”, infotainment or talk show tidbits, the documentary form is alive and thriving. At the same time, the once-strong public financing of documentary is less than stable. Where do the docu-bucks come from? This condensed one-and-a-half-day workshop examined the best of the medium- its audience, distribution and financing- in an international context. With special thanks to the Banff Television Festival."
