“Descendents of John Grimm and Margaret Everhart”

This file consists of a family history compiled by Ruth Lana Neilson which traces the Grimm family back as far as 1814 with the marriage of John Grim and Margaret Everhart. The book was originally published in Roseburg, Oregon and the inside caption reads; “From Ohio to Iowa, Nebraska, and Wisconsin, 1814 – 1993”. The book is spiral bound on includes family stories, family trees, and scanned newspaper clippings, photographs, and documents related to the Grim/Grimm families, as well as various off-shoots of the family. The book also includes a maiden name cross reference and additional hand-written insertions.

Cards

This file consists of wedding cards, a marriage advice book, birth announcements, birthday cards, and remembrance cards given to the Grimms on special occasions.

Christmas and John’s Grave

This file consists of photo negatives depicting some christmas scenes and scenes of a Mary Grimm’s gravesite which are duplicates of print photos in 676.02.03 – Grimm Family/Grimm family photos.

Edith Vader Personal Papers

This series contains records related to Edith Vader and her family. These records consist of two Sprirt River School yearbooks dedicated to former students serving in the war, and two copies of the last will and testament for Ethel May Vader.

Estate Papers

This file consists of various estate documents for W. H. Vader, who drowned in the Saskatchewan River in 1902, and for Robert Fairbairn, who seems to have been a second or third cousin.

Family

This file consists of photographs depicting Ora and Edith Grimm’s family from shortly before their marriage until Ora’s death in 1965. The photographs continue to depict family life into the 1990s. The file also includes photographs of extended family throughout the years.

This file consists of photo negatives that show family life. There are also some photos that show men wearing military uniforms, house construction, and some farming scenes. Many of these also exist in print form in this fonds.

[Family Trips]

This file consists of photo negatives that appear to dipict different family trips the Grimms took. There are scenes of wildlife, bridges, camping, and groupings of people

Farm Account Books

This file contains farm account books from 1940-1944, 1946, 1958-1959, and 1966.
