The first Heritage Lecture was organized by the MacBride Museum Society in 1990. The lectures generally take place on a bi-monthly basis and are presented by an assortment of speakers from academic, professional, and non-professional backgrounds residing in the Yukon and across Canada.

Scope and content
The collection consists of audio tape cassettes of lectures from 1990 to 1995 relating to various aspects of Yukon heritage. Topics addressed by the speakers include archaeology, aviation, animals and wildlife, Alaska Highway, development of Whitehorse and other settlements, heritage conservation, geology, geography, gold rush, photography, prehistory, and Yukon First Nations culture including artistry, clothing, subsistence, and medicine.
