Administrative history
A group of community people from the East Smoky area - Andy Rieger, Luke Dwyer, Bill Chapman, Harvey Pellerin, Marvin Moore, John Nielsen and Roy Bickell - suggested the formation of the East Smoky Recreation Board and at a public meeting March 21, 1968, the Board was formed. In 1975, an office was set up in the DeBolt Centennial Hall and Dawne Klassen was the coordinator. A newsletter was published giving news from the area's clubs and recreation groups. A 1978 master plan outlined many recommendations for future projects and facilities and the 1991 master plan looked at the all the needs of the community for programming and facilities.
