Biographical history

Doreen Fialkow was born in 1935 in Alberta. From 1956-1958, she volunteered in Israel. After finishing school, Doreen Jampolsky was employed as a teacher. She married Murray Jampolsky (1930-1984). Murray's father Moses Jampolsky, was an early Jewish settler in rural Alberta, and a teacher in the Public Schools of Northeastern Alberta. Doreen's mother, Martha Hacker Fialkow (1910-1988) was one of the first Jewish children born in Alberta. Doreen's father, Harry Aaron Fialkow (1910-1981) came from Pinsk in 1927. Harry and Martha married in 1933.

The fonds consists of materials created or collected by Doreen Jampolsky of Edmonton, Alberta in 1999 and consists of a family history and family photographs.
