Biographical history

John Mooney, ca. 1813-?, and his wife Letitia McCurdy, ca. 1833-?, originally from Grey County, Ontario, settled in Manitoba in 1880. They had six children, William Scott, 1859-1927, George, 1861-, Elizabeth "Lizzie", 1867-, Jack, 1868-, Hannah, 1871- and Letitia Ellen (Nellie) McClung, 1873-1951. William Scott Mooney and his wife Lillian Martha, 1861-1941, lived in Lacombe, Alberta before settling in Edmonton. They had six children, Nellie, 1887- , George, 1889- , Estella, 1891- , Charles A., 1893- , Edna and Fred J. In 1925 their daughter Edna, 1895-1989, married banker Harry Cleveland Dalgleish, 1896-1963, and they lived in several places, including Banff, before settling in Calgary. They had one son, William Harry "Bill", 1927-2012, a Calgary lawyer, who was married to Ann.

The fonds consists of photograph albums and newspaper clippings relating to the Mooney and Dalgleish families in Manitoba and Alberta.
