Biographical history
The Caisse Francalta Credit Union Limited (Ltd.) was incorporated April 19, 1972 under the <em>Credit Union Act</em> and offered services in French to better serve francophones in Alberta. Mathias Tellier was Caisse Francalta's first president. In the mid-1970s, there were four branches, two in Edmonton, Alberta and two in the Peace River area of Alberta. The Caisse Francalta Credit Union most likely closed in 1987 when a number of local credit unions amalgamated to form the Capital City Savings Credit Union Limited.

The fonds consists of an annual report for 1984 and photocopied newspaper articles about the Caisse Francalta Credit Union Limited from 1972 to 1980.

Paul Blain, manager of the Caisse Francalta, deposited the records in the Provincial Archives of Alberta in 1985.
