Biographical history
The Bezanson Rural Mutual Telephone Company was incorporated under <em>The Companies Act</em> on May 3, 1947 and served the area around Bezanson, Alberta. Specifically, it included Townships 71, 72, and 73, Range 3, West of the 6th Meridian (71,72,73-3-W6), and the company shared a trunk line with the Grande Prairie and Crystal Creek Mutual Telephone Companies. Alberta Government Telephones (AGT) assumed provision of communication services in the area on May 10, 1970, though the Bezanson Rural Mutual Telephone Company was not dissolved until 1971.

Fond consists of the business records of the Bezanson Rural Mutual Telephone Company and includes minutes, voting proxies, certificates, annual reports, correspondence, subscriber lists, financial records, subscriber accounts, agreements, and a map.

Immediate source of acquisition
Mr. Milfred Patterson deposited these records in the Provincial Archives of Alberta in 1976. Mr. Patterson was the Secretary-Treasurer of the Bezanson Rural Mutual Telephone Company.
