Biographical history

Beth LaDow is the author of "The Medicine Line - Life and Death on a North American Borderland". It is a comparative history of Canada and the U.S. She began researching the topic in the 1980's for her Doctoral Dissertation at Brandeis University. The book was published in 2001.

LaDow has worked as a magazine editor, taught history at Brandeis University, as well as writing at Harvard. She has also taught and consulted for other institutions of higher education, nonprofit organizations, and consulting firms. Her radio commentaries have aired on WBUR in Boston.

The fonds consists of: 32 oral history audio cassettes, research notes, articles, portions of copied publications, census and homestead records for Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Montana, historical reports, reminiscences and historical accounts (including copies of diaries), source notes and bibliographic data, illustrations, and maps.
