Biographical history

Auburndale United Church in Auburndale, Alberta has been a mission field since 1908. The first church building was completed in 1924. Auburndale United Church has the distinction of being the first United Church to be dedicated after the formation of the United Church of Canada on June 10, 1925. The Auburndale United Church was dedicated on the afternoon of that day, and was originally situated in Vermilion Presbytery. Auburndale United Church is currently (2001) a mission congregation situated in St. Paul Presbytery.

Records have been received into the custody of the Provincial Archives of Alberta from the individual congregation and/or pastoral charge, or from church members, or from Conference or Presbytery.

Scope and content

The fonds consists of the series: Membership Records (Home Mission Record Books with registers, including Basswood, Heatherbell, Preston, Thorncliff, Tolland, Vermilion, and Wildmere; and other records, 1932- 1964; Historical Data, 1950-1964.
