File consists of two copies of the agenda for the workshop, which took place November 15-17, 2001. The program description reads: "The Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) symposium on Virtual Reality Software and Technology (VRST) 2001 was organized and sponsored by ACM, SIGGRAPH and SIG-CHI for members only.
The Banff New Media Institute (BNMI) was pleased to host the first ACM/Virtual Reality (VR) conference to be held in North America. The first Virtual Reality Software and Technology (VRST) was held in Singapore in 1994 and since then it has been held in Japan, Hong Kong, Switzerland, Taiwan, England and Korea. VRST is an annual conference devoted to virtual reality hardware and software. The conference brings together the foremost researchers in the field to consider new applications and the computer science and engineering challenges they represent. BNMI has a long history of research in the application of VT technology to the arts, and this symposium included a special presentation of work by BNMI artists in the field of virtual reality and visualization."
