Biographical history

Art and Lilllian Bree moved to Jasper in the early 1930's . Art worked for the Canadian National Railways and helped with the construction of the Jasper-Banff Highway and the Miette Hot Springs Pool. Lillian was employed by the Canadian National Railways 1942-1945 in the engine shops. The Brees built their home at 310 Balsam Ave. Their sons Gorin (1933) and Leslie (1934) attended school in Jasper and after graduating from University they worked with the Defence Research Board, Ottawa. Lillian and Art created many crafts from their collection of semi precious stones in their retirement years. Lillian had many handicraft interests among them creating figures from the "Doo Dads" comic strip. Art retired from the Canadian National Railways 1976 and died in 1980. Lillian is living in the Seton General Hospital Long Term Care.

The fonds consists of 22 photographs of Jasper High School Variety Show directed by Tom Siddal (1952). 11 photographs of Jasper Townsite Buildings (1958). Doo Dads publication from the Coutry Guide (1930-1932)
