Biographical history
The Amateur Athletic Union of Canada (AAUC) was instituted in Montreal in 1884 to assist in the promotion and supervision of clean, wholesome, vigorous competition for individuals desiring to participate in athletic activities. The Alberta Branch was founded in 1908 and represented many different sports groups. Byron W. Bellamy of Athabasca served as president and also as secretary-treasurer of the organization. Gradually sports organizations developed national and provincial organizations and withdrew from the AAUC. In 1971 the group voted to disband in favour of Sports Alberta.

Scope and content
The fonds consists of the 1947 Dominion Amateur Wrestling Championships program and list of entries; the 1948 Boxing and Wrestling Championships program and list of entries; the 1948 Official Boxing Handbook; and 1948 clippings from the Athabasca Echo newspaper regarding the event. The 1942 and 1951 Provincial Interscholastic Track and Field Championships were also held in Athabasca. The fonds contains a souvenir program, participant names and certificates for the 1951 event.

Donated by Millie Hay (Talpash). This was part of the material that she collected and kept at the Kinnoull Museum. 05.31 was donated by Bob Berrea. The donor for 05.25 is unknown.
