Biographical history
Alec Howard was born in England in 1922. He came to the Eastend district with his parents in 1924. He attended both the Eastend and South Fork schools. In 1950, Alec married Marye Moodie, who at the time, was nursing in Maple Creek. They lived on the Pollock ranch for one year before moving to the Anglican rectory in Eastend for two years. From there they moved to Art Hall's homestead, where they remained for one year before moving to the Major Moodie ranch in the Klintonel district in 1957 where Alec farmed land and raised cattle. In 1964, they moved into Eastend where they still live. Marye has worked part-time at the Eastend hospital since 1951. Alec and Marye have three children: Alan Sydney Alec, born August 23, 1951, is a computer science constultant. Maureen Rosalind Kathleen (Renee), born October 1, 1953, is a registered nurse, she married Kerresin George in 1979. Susan Norma Olive, born May 15, 1958 is ranching on the old Pollock ranch where her grandfathers, Sid Howard and "Tib" Moodie worked in the early years. She is also a nurse's aide at the Eastend Hospital.
