Biographical history
The Advocate, published weekly by Barrhead Printers and Stationers Ltd., produced its first newspaper in Athabasca on October 5, 1982. November 3, 1987 the name changed to The Athabasca Advocate. It has been Athabasca's only newspaper since June, 1993. It covers the news in Athabasca, Boyle and the surrounding area.

The fonds consists of photographs and negatives produced for use by The Advocate newspaper for the January to December issues in 1984; negatives for 1985; negatives and contact sheets for 1986-1988.
