Administrative history
The Advisor to the President on Women's issues advises the President on policy relating to the status of women at the University of Calgary. She chairs the President's Advisory Committee on the Status of Women and participates in the development of employment equity policies and procedures. The advisor facilitates communication among university groups concerned with women's issues and encourages research that bears on the status of women. Also, the advisor organizes special events related to the status of women at the university, acts as a liason with officers concerned with women's issues in other universities and organizations, and represents the President as requested in activities within and outside the university related to women's issues.

Scope and content
Fonds consists of records created by the Advisor to the President on Women's Issues and the President's Advisory Committee on the Status of Women. These include subject files arranged in alphabetical order by subject (the individual file titles are not strictly alphabetical), the reports "Daycare Expansion" and "Women in the '90's", budgets, newspaper clippings and legal correspondence on the Aleksandra Vinogradov discrimination hiring case, membership lists, surveys, and minutes of meetings of the Status of Women Committee (1977-1989). Also consists of annual reports of the Advisor to the President on Women's Issues (1989-1993).
