Peter Doumnoff's parents Terenty (aka Terrance) (1880/81-1967) and Anna Doumnoff married in 1923. It was a second marriage for both of them as their previous spouses had died. Around 1924, the Terenty and Anna Doumnoff family left Russia for China. They lived in Harbin, China for two years. In 1926, Terenty and his son Tom left for Canada. The rest of family joined them in 1927 when they moved to Homeglen, AB (near Ponoka). They next moved to Shouldice, AB (south of Calgary) and then around 1930, moved north to Hines Creek area in the Peace River country of Alberta to have their own homestead. Terenty had six children from his previous marriage to Pearl, three of whom died in infancy or as young children(Patap, Vosili and Oleana (?-1924)). The other children were Tom (1920-?), Peter (1908-1986), and Nina (1913-?). Peter married Jean Nasedkin on Feb. 2, 1934 and had three children, Nona, Jim and Jode. Jean Nasedkin's parents were Evdokia (1889-1946) & Ivan Kabakoff. They lived in Harbin, China and worked for the Russian Railway. Ivan died in 1920 of a heart attack and Evdokia re-married Peter Nasedkin (1875-?) in 1922. Peter had been a civil servant in the Czarist government. He fled Russian and left his family behind in 1917 when the Russian Revolution began. He got a job in Harbin, China and saved up enough money for his family to come. One year later, he was able to contact his family to find that his wife had died in childbirth and his mother was looking after the children. After marrying Evdokia, he was able to bring his children to China, but his mother returned to Russia. Evdokia had 5 children from her first marriage, Zina(1908/09-?), Nick (1911-?), Jean (1913-?), Viola (1915-?) and Jim(1917-?). Peter had 3 children from his first marriage, Alfina(1916-?), Joe (1908-1960) and Van (1915-1957). Together, Evdokia and Peter had two more children, Victor (1925-?) and Zoya (1927-?). In 1924, they were forced to leave China and ended up in Homeglen, Alberta. In 1927/28, they moved to the Hines Creek area.
